The Monger Family: Summer fun

I can't believe it is already mid-summer!! We have been trying to enjoy the nice weather when we can. It rains ALL THE TIME!!! I know everyone in Texas doesn't want to hear that but it does and I'm tired of it. We have had some absolutely beautiful days so Lane and I stay outside a lot!! The play set, sandbox, mower, golf set or pool NEVER get old for Lane. :) He even loves to help me in the garden...take a look at his toenails and you know exactly how he likes to help!! He actually is really good at pulling weeds but I have to be careful that he doesn't pull an actual plant.

We were invited to a fish fry and fireworks on July 3rd. We thought it was going to be a "little" get together but there were over 100 people at this house!! It was a great time to meet some new people though. Lane wanted to play with all the boys even though the games they were playing would have seriously injured him. Daddy did finally let him play a little while everyone was eating.

The fireworks were beautiful. Last year, Lane slept through the displays but this year he was wide awake. He wasn't sure what to think about them at first but by the end he was happy and after every pop he would say BOOM!

Lane was in a parade on July 4th...it rained. We walked around in the rain for far too long but he loved it and waved at everything...even inanimate objects.

We went to the 4-H livestock show this week. Lane enjoyed the animals immensely! He got to pet all the show animals plus we went back with Daddy last night and he went through the petting zoo. I think the bunny was his favorite.
